San Ghanny choir: Strong Hands & Strong Hearts, Stories and Songs from Occupied Palestine
March 3 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmFree
Join San Ghanny (meaning ‘we shall sing’ in Arabic) for stories and song from their recent journey from Edinburgh to Palestine. They will tell stories of somoud (‘steadfastness’), which encapsulate the dignity with which Palestinians live their lives and resist injustice. Drawing parallells between the freedom struggle in South Africa and singing songs in Zulu, Arabic, English and Scots, we are called upon as an international community to sing together against injustice everywhere. And if you’ve never learnt an Arabic song before, here’s your chance!
Donations can be given to support projects in Palestine.
