WEA Day School: History, Heritage & the Environment

20 January 2018 @ 09:30 - 16:00

We have a brilliant day school and performance event to see in the new year, exploring how history shapes the environment and ecological change in turn molds history and heritage. It all feels very current as we see the impacts of environmental problems each day, Addams may even reflect some of your new year’s resolutions to be kinder to the planet!

Speakers are Leona Skelton, Mike Greatbach and we have a keynote from the WEA Green Branch’s Ruth Hayward. And we have an afternoon performance by the absolutely brilliant Three Acres and a Cow (https://threeacresandacow.co.uk/), who tell the history of land rights and protest via drama and song. It’s a co-production between the Turbulent Times pop-up reading rooms, WEA Green Branch and WEA NE History & Heritage Branch.

It’s happening on Saturday 20th January at Newcastle City Library and (for the show) Brunswick Methodist Church, which is alongside Fenwicks.
