This database was developed during the Popular Politics Project. The material was collected by volunteers who worked in the archives and libraries of the region and beyond. It has then been edited, rationalised into blocks of material from each archive/library, and entered with suitable cross referencing by Sean Creighton, the Archival Mapping & Research Co-ordinator.

Before starting to search please read Topic 1 which explains how to use the database in more detail, and Topic Nos. 2 & 3 which is a listing of Topics.

The database works like any archive or library search, but the material is different and more varied reflecting the character of the Project. We want to encourage users to add material of interest. For editing purposes a user must be approved and should register at pppdatabase at nelh dot net .

In order to retain the coherence of the database system, users wishing to create and add new Topics should email the database editor Sean Creighton with the text. He will check it in order to ensure that any cross referencing needs to be added. pppdatabase at nelh dot net
