  • Saturday 19th Oct 11am -talk by  Brian Ward Professor of American History Northumbria University.  Newcastle and North Shields – their role in the abolition movement
  • Fri. & Sat 1st & 2nd Nov 7.30pm – Resisting Slavery with Words and Music. A concert by The Freedom Choir Tickets £10
  • Saturday 16th Nov. 10am – 1pm – Quilting Demonstration on the theme of the ‘Underground Railway’
  • Saturday 23rd November 11am – talk by local historian Mike Coates: John Foster Spence and the Quakers of North Shields
