An International Brigade Memorial Trust event at the Tyneside Irish Centre on Friday 8 December, to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the return of the Brigaders from Spain.  Doors open 7 pm for 7.15 pm start.  The event includes:

• 40-minute IBMT film, ‘The Brigaders Return!’
• Speeches by Alan Mardghum, Durham Miners’ Association general secretary, and Alex Clifford, historian
• RTE film, ‘Black Sheep’, about Irish International Brigader, Pastor Bob Hilliard, killed in Spain
• Songs performed by Keith Hudson, Margaret Levy and Ron Brown, including two different songs with the same ‘Viva la Quinte Brigada’ title.
