Journal Articles and Memories on the 1926 General Strike

To mark the centenary of the 1926 General Strike, we have uploaded a number of articles that have been published in our Journal on the subject. Much of the material is based on recollections by those who took part. The 1976 Journal carried five such pieces, a valuable first-hand record that would be lost to history if our past members had not gone to the trouble of recording them. The 1970 Issue gives a number of accounts of the strike as seen on Teesside. There is also material on the role of women in the strike and the intervention of the military, both in 1921 and 1926. You can access all of these here.
